Thicker Aliens Boards Stretch Goal UNLOCKED!
We finally agreed to also make the Mimic mini come with a thick board as well, assuming you have a Collector or Limited, or pick up the add-on. We're also about to unlock the cool new Hunger Games style Battle Royale scenario game when we get 1000 backers.
Plastic Planetary Bases?
I created a $1 tier to attract a larger total number of backers. Ask your friends to join the campaign!
If we get to 1200 backers then we'll add plastic bases to all the copies of the expansion. This is an achievable goal if we focus on getting new $1 backers.
If we don't get to 1200 backers then we'll provide 3D printable files for the base minis. But I bet we can make it if we get a surge.
Grip Mats - 50% off
Matt and I dug up some 24 inch Grip Mats from 2015 that had been in the warehouse. These were lightly damaged by a machine imperfection (looks like a thin chalk line near the edge). Otherwise the quality is great. One version has the 10 planet setup and the other version is a space background. The surface is thick and high quality (later Grip Mats from the same company were made using an inferior process. These are AMAZING. You can crumble them up and they unfold back to a wrinkle-free flat surface.

While browsing Kickstarter I noticed there was a card game from some nice guys in New Zealand. Their game ALSO features a "special card." But unlike Chaosmos, you don't want to have the Psycho Chicken. Anyway, it's an interesting looking game and I thought I would share it with you.

Mor'ls the Mimic includes new character board and tiles
Kickstarter- Exclusive Alien - (Add $20 if your tier doesn't include it)
We tried to avoid a reprint of Mor'ls the Mimic, (a Kickstarter-Exclusive alien we introduced during the last campaign), but you guys begged and pleaded, so we're making a new mold and printing new character boards.
Mor'ls is a fun alien who copies other powers. He does not come in the normal game boxes by default, as we have always promised him as a Kickstarter-exclusive, and that is where he will remain.
It isn't fair that only backers of the expensive tiers can have access to ALL 14 aliens, but we did have to make this add-on a bit more money ($20) to account for the new thick board.
Can I get all the other higher-tier content as add-ons?
No. Just the Mimic alien, flags, and fold-out board.
Why is the Mimic $20? Why not just make it a stretch goal?
We have to redo the mold and pay for the tooling costs. Plus, reprinting at super-limited quantities is extremely expensive, unfortunately. We're doing the best we can to satisfy the most backers.
What are you doing for the premium clock in Limited Edition?
We don't have renderings yet, but Limited Edition will likely include a plastic stand (in the shape of a temple ziggurat) that elevates your clock above the board about and inch or two. We are working on this and will post an update when it is figured out. This stand should also be strong enough to hold the Collector Edition wood clocks.

I backed at the Collector Edition. Do I also get the new Mimic board, flags, and the premium clock temple stand?
Yes, even if you backed Collector (Eternal Guardian) back in 2014 you still get the new stuff as long as you also get the expansion. However, there will be a stocking fee because each item needs to be added to the shipment separately, and our warehouse charges for that.
CLARIFICATION - ONLY owners of the COLLECTOR EDITION and LIMITED EDITION get the new stuff free. If a backer is at the Master of the New Universe level from the previous campaign, they would have to pay if they want the Mimic with the thick punchboard. If they are fine with the cardstock then the old version is still compatible.
Ok that's it for now! We've almost hit 1000 backers, which will unlock a new variant, COLLAPSING COSMOS! This was an idea from Danny Vigour, who did the graphic design for the game.

A couple people have asked about the new combat system - the system hasn't changed but alliances, Favor cards, and many new equipment cards allow a more tactical depth to combat, including making the timing of card play more important. Sam and I dive into it!
Hoping to do a super crazy update tomorrow with some clips from our recent Let's Play Chaosmos: The Temple video, which is coming soon.
What new add-ons and tiers do you want to see? We have a few things planned.
