Video Update! The new deck of cards! Plus, More Collector Editions (16 only!).
about 4 years ago – Sat, Feb 15, 2020 at 09:56:57 PM

Hi guys,

As per yesterday's update, Matt and I have located some additional copies of the Collector Edition. They may have small cosmetic dings to the box due to being shipped here. But they are still shrink wrapped and beautiful.

Should I get Collector Edition or Limited?

I was not very clear in my update yesterday. If you buy Collector you will also get whatever items Limited Edition gets you, including a signed insert sticker, some kind of platform for the clock (to be determined), and anything else. (You also get the 21 flags for the new aliens.) Collector Edition comes with different color hypertokens and Limited comes with one color. They both come with the Mimic alien and the new aliens, plastic flags, plus all the Temple expansion items. Finally, since the Limited Edition requires reprinting some items, only the Collector Edition can be shipped immediately (provided you pay shipping). The Limited backers must wait until the expansion items are printed.

The Collector Edition will ship in the giant box (Expanded Edition), plus the Collector box. The Limited will ship in just the giant box (Expanded Edition) alone. They come with all the same gameplay elements.

If you already have the Collector Edition, we'll include the new Limited items for a small shipping fee, but only if you also buy any tier that contains the expansion.

Part 2 coming next week.

Hope you guys are having a great weekend!

More Collector Editions - 10am Tomorrow! PLUS, Limited Edition! Video Update!
about 4 years ago – Fri, Feb 14, 2020 at 10:10:03 PM

15 Collector Editions available 10am Pacific TOMORROW!  Going fast!

Tomorrow (Saturday) morning, 10am Pacific, I will add an additional 15 copies of Collector Edition. I will keep these at the same price as the others. There are no more available after this. See the video below. I ramble a bit in the video, but the short version is that 15 more copies of Collector are available tomorrow, and I also created a new Limited Edition. Owners of Collector Edition will receive the additional flags minis for the new aliens for free with their expansion order. We intend to provide the premium clock (or clock base) and signed sticker for Collector backers as well. Collector Edition backers are all set. Other than the sleeves (which are an add-on for all tiers) you get EVERYTHING.

Introducing Chaosmos: Limited Edition!

Now available!

  Collector/Expanded Edition Vs. Limited

The Collector Edition was produced a few years ago and there are only a few left. It is now combined with the Expanded Edition. It contains:

  • Chaosmos + Giant Box + Fold-Out Board
  • Wood Clock (not 100% compatible with Temple Events)
  • 6 bonus cards (no longer important as the Expansion comes with a complete new deck
  • Bonus alien Mor'ls the Mimic
  • 98 Plastic Landing Flags (including flags for new aliens)
  • Glass Hypertokens (multiple colors)
  • Premium Sparkly Dice
  • Individually Numbered Linen Sleeve

Limited Edition

Limited Edition is a new tier I am introducing to raise enough money to create new molds for the flags and Mimic miniature. You guys asked for it, so you get it. I know it is expensive but the value will be obvious when you open it up.

  • Chaosmos + Giant Box + Fold-Out Board
  • Premium Clock (Thicker or with a heavy raised base)
  • No bonus cards because most of those are now included in the base deck
  • Bonus alien Mor'ls the Mimic
  • 98 Plastic Landing Flags (including flags for new aliens)
  • Glass Hypertokens (one color)
  • Hand-Inscribed Sticker Insert (signed by designer)

Note: If you already have Chaosmos and want this tier, add $120 to get Limited Edition (without Chaosmos) as an add-on. We don't offer Chaosmos as an add-on alone because we need to track the limited stock.

Why have different versions?

Some items can't be produced again, so this is our attempt to offer most of the premium content at the best price possible. If you end up with one edition versus another and want something not included, just send us a message.

Video Update! Digging up the Collector Editions!

Another Note: For logistical reasons (manufacturing with different factories, custom card sleeves are an add-on for all tiers, so if you want sleeves for the cards and mini cards in Chaosmos and The Temple, add $20 to any tier.

about 4 years ago – Thu, Feb 13, 2020 at 11:25:58 PM

We're chugging right along, guys! See below for a survey about the Collector Edition (that we've sold out of). Please answer it if you can! It will help us figure out what we can offer.

I'll do a comprehensive update tomorrow about this issue, and I am hoping to satisfy everyone.

Here's a new video we just shot where I teach playtester Jeff about the Upgrade and Ally powers!

Take the Collector Edition Survey! Update Tomorrow!

Video Update! About to hit 50k! Time to help share!
about 4 years ago – Wed, Feb 12, 2020 at 10:13:51 PM

Hi guys!

If you haven't noticed, this is an extremely short campaign. We're busy with playtesting and art, plus there's a convention this weekend and a Let's Play video we're shooting Sunday. So I'm really relying on YOU to help us get the word out this week.

Video Update!

Thanks for all the excitement and look out for tomorrow's video update, all about the ALIENS!! Then Friday's update will be insanity!!

FUNDED! Great first 6 hours! - help us with some logistics!
about 4 years ago – Tue, Feb 11, 2020 at 11:10:23 PM

All right, things are doing awesome so far! It is inspiring to see how many backers from 2014 have come out to support us again!

Stretch Goal updates: I'll be doing a live stream in the next few days - maybe tomorrow - to show the game and answer questions. Saturday I'm running the game at Strategicon here in L.A. and then Sunday the team will be attempting to shoot an ambitious multi-camera Let's Play video for the game!

The first "real" stretch goal starts at 45k - we'll start to add physical content to the expansion copies.

Collector Edition (Eternal Guardian)

Matt tells me that we've very limited on Collector Editions and I'm not going to be reprinting those. Once the 99 copies of the that tier get sold, they are gone. Which means, I need to delete the Collector Edition from the Add-Ons. Let me know if you plan to add that edition as an add-on so I can count you.

I am brainstorming how to handle backer requests for Collector Edition content that will not be available. I was not expecting so many people would buy that edition. I'll make some decisions in the next few days. The most important component is the flags, which I am reprinting. I might reprint the Mimic alien if people want him, but he would need to be playtested with the new boards and powers and he has never felt like a canonized alien to me, just a fun Kickstarter bonus.

Giant Box Question!

Those of you who are getting the Expanded Edition box (either in Expanded Edition tier or as an add-on): Do you want to receive the smaller Temple box as well, or just the components inside the one big box?

The Temple box is a bit smaller than the regular base game box, or likely will be. I was planning on shipping the giant box with the expansion box inside, but obviously if you want to have the Expanded box be organized then you would discard both the base game box and the Temple box and put everything into the Expanded box. Note that I will likely put the Temple art on the back of the Expanded Edition box, so if that is the case, is there any backer who particularly wants to end up with all THREE of the boxes pictured below, even though all their components fit into the big box? Happy to deliver what you want, but I am leaning towards just putting the expansion stuff directly into the giant box, with slots for the base game components as well, obviously! Any backer who wants different can have the extra box. Does that make sense? Thoughts?

Ok! I really need to sleep!
