Hi all,
I hope you had a good holiday season! I had very much intended to have this project 100% resolved in 2025. Luckily, we're so close to being done at this point that I'm still feeling the excitement of the weight of this project lifted off my shoulders. Next year represents a clean slate for me, and I've been carefully formulating my plans. I am unbelievably grateful to all of you. Your kindness and patience has really meant a lot.
• About 150 backers have received their orders so far. These are primarily the USA-based Collector Edition backers, or backers with add-ons that are not available at the fulfillment warehouses. In other words; pretty much all the orders that I personally packed have gone out.
• When your orders ship, you will be emailed tracking info automatically. Don't ask me for tracking. You'll get that from MonthlyBoxer or GamesQuest or PnP Logistics.
• The bulk of orders STILL have not shipped. Our USA fulfillment center (in update New York) got overwhelmed with holiday shipments for other clients. The majority of USA and Canada backers won't see their order shipped until January (probably). I can't estimate shipping dates for backers outside USA and Canada, but it will be sometime soon. It comes down to when the shippers get them prepped and dispatched. It was ambitious of me to think most backers would get their items in December. I should have known the holidays would grind everything to a halt with the fulfillment. I'm sorry to those of you who asked and received an incorrect answer from me about when you would receive it; I really am trying my best. But most of the logistics is out of my hands at this point-- this is good news; it means the professional teams are now in charge of your orders.
• Europe, Asia, and Australia: It was not possible to dispatch the "expansion-only" shipments separately; the fulfillment teams have minimum order sizes, so sadly all the orders had to wait until all the little random add-ons got sorted and prepped. To compensate for other delays, I ended up air-shipping the base games (and the bonus gifts and add-on items) to the UK, where they were sorted and placed alongside the expansions. GamesQuest is shipping most international orders. If you are in the EU, there will be a further delay, as your orders need to siphon through the Netherlands. I'll do a separate update in a few weeks to see where we are with EU shipping.
• For those of you who completed your surveys after the initial deadlines, I am STILL going though and charging your card any unpaid balance. I am doing this one backer at a time (to avoid charging backers who didn't consent to be charged). A few backers still have not updated their cards or confirmed their address in the past year, due to disinterest in the project or due to moral opposition with shipping costs. I will reach out to those backers after the first wave of shipping. I will probably come up with some kind of "offer" for those customers, either a fee waiver or refund. But it will have to wait until the majority of backers have been fulfilled.
• Tech issues with BackerKit have been brutal with this project; there's still about 200 backers who didn't confirm their address in the past year. I decided that I'm willing to risk shipping to people who confirmed their address by May 2025 or later. (Anyone who added the "Ship to Me - 2025" item is already confirmed, plus anyone who responded to any of the BackerKit emails since May.)
• If you backed the "Thirty Projects" digital reward tier, I'm going to be delivering those digital rewards via BackerKit sometime in January. I will make some of the projects available to the general public over the course of this coming year.
